Chiropractic Techniques

Dr. Callie is trained in Webster technique for pregnant patients, as well as manual adjustments and activator adjustments. Dr. Callie uses dry needling, cupping therapy and scraping/Gua-Sha therapy to further promote healing if needed.

The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic adjustment used primarily during pregnancy to help relieve discomfort and improve the position of the baby. It focuses on the pelvis and sacrum (the lower back area), aiming to reduce tension in the muscles and ligaments that support the uterus.

A Manual Chiropractic Adjustment is a hands-on treatment where a chiropractor applies controlled force to a specific joint, typically in the spine, to improve its alignment and mobility. The goal is to restore proper movement and function to the joint, which may have become restricted or misaligned due to injury, poor posture, or other factors.

An Activator Adjustment is a type of chiropractic technique that uses a small, handheld device called the Activator to deliver a gentle, controlled impulse to specific areas of the spine or joints. The device is spring-loaded and produces a quick, low-force thrust that helps restore proper alignment and function without the need for manual manipulation (like traditional chiropractic adjustments).

Scraping Therapy (also known as Gua Sha) involves using a smooth-edged tool to scrape the skin in a specific pattern. This is typically done on the back, neck, or shoulders. The scraping motion is thought to help release muscle tension, promote blood circulation, and encourage the flow of "qi" (energy).

Cupping therapy involves placing special cups on the skin to create a vacuum. This vacuum pulls the skin and underlying tissue into the cup, which is thought to increase blood flow, relieve muscle tension, and promote healing.

Dry needling involves inserting thin needles into tight muscle knots to relieve pain and tension. It targets specific trigger points to improve circulation and promote healing, often used for muscle pain and injuries.
